Appointments with their time, and what happened today in your own hand. Each appointment can remind you before it's due, and the streak counts the days with ink on them.

A list you tick off by hand.
A drawn box and a stroke across it. What you didn't get done isn't lost: it moves to today and leaves a trail. Press and hold a line to correct it or tear it out.
Notes
Sticky notes that hang from no day.
The scratch pad, always to hand. Stick a note up, file it behind a divider, or write it out properly as an appointment, a task or an expense.

The calendar underlines the days with appointments and frames today. Below, the month's habits: a chain of days you don't want to break.

Anything that falls in a month you haven't opened waits in its envelope, and what comes round every month or year waits in the standing one. Open that notebook and each slip moves to its page by itself.

What you didn't do isn't lost: it moves to today and leaves a trail.
An unticked task doesn't vanish at midnight. Next morning it's on today's page, with a small note saying which day it came from. Just like paper: same pen, same notebook.
No cloud
Your words never leave your phone.
The notebook lives on your phone and nowhere else. No sign-up, no server reading what you write, no sync to break. The only thing that travels is the backup you seal, to wherever you choose.
No accounts
Nobody asks for an email or a password. You open the notebook and write.
